Lenten Small Groups

Sign up here to  join a small group.

  • Book Study and Discussion Group: Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s The Cost of Discipleship. 4-5:15 p.m. on Sundays March 1, 15, 22, 29, and April 5. Location: 58 Penn-Lyle Rd., Princeton Junction NJ. This is a second chance to discuss an important work about Discipleship in the modern world. It provides a concurrent opportunity for those who EITHER cannot attend Tom Driver’s class during the regular Christian Education hour OR those who want to dig deeper into the text.
  • “Not by Bread Alone”: Cooking from the Bible. When: Afternoons of Sundays March 8,22, 29 and April 5. Leader: Peggy Redman             Location: church kitchen or someone’s home, TBD. We will cook foods found in or inspired by the Bible and bring them to the Pastor’s Lenten Potluck suppers on the four dates above. Before each meeting, the group will decide what to prepare, then come together to cook and have fellowship and send the dish off to the potlucks.
  • Book Study and Discussion Group: Marcus Borg’s The Last Week. Folks who have expressed interest in this group will need to confer beforehand to determine leadership and when and where to meet. Borg’s book takes the reader day-by-day and step-by-step through Holy Week, unpacking the events of that momentous time historically, sociologically, and theologically, to gain new perspectives on Jesus’s final days on earth.
